So, over the last week I’ve been playing through a shooter RPG-Hybrid; Borderlands. The game has a very crisp art style, all objects being outlined with a comic book appearance (cell shading). The environments are usually unique and the questing system it uses it alot like WoW, go from here to here and kill x. Not exactly original but most quests are easy to figure out. There are alot of armor and weapons, (rpg) although the combat is entirely FPS (point and shoot) giving it an interesting feel. The bosses are very original, and have their own dialog and introduction screens, but casual enemies are generic and getting past them is rather grindy. The online mode is a co-op system, that allows you to complete any quest/powerlevel essentially do anything(you could on 1 player) with both people; and while on co-op the rewards are increased. The storyboard will give you many hours of play time, however as mentioned above it gets grindy. The physics are clunky, but manageable, and you get to pick from one of four classes with different unique abilities and mods.

A zoo in Taiwan just successfully bred a lion and tiger, and are currently facing fines from the government for “going against nature”. According to the tapei “apple daily” their are only about 10 ligers in the world, adult ligers grow much larger than lions making them very dangerous- ligers that have lived to grow to maturity easily hit 1000 pounds . I don’t think they should be trying to cross breed the animals, as they have difficulty surviving at young ages(once they pass a few months they become healthy) . But it is interesting knowing ligers exist.

-The worlds largest (non obese) cat was a 1250 pound liger
-Ligers that live through the initial birth difficulty live an average of 20 years.
-Tiglons (tiger + lion)’s also exist(have existed)

Rogues might not be a good pick for arena’s or battlegrounds anymore (in MLG 2010 they where referred to as a ‘liability’ thanks to blizzards unrelenting uneeded nerfs) – HOWEVER. Fully PvP geared rogues still rape unsuspecting pve geared noobs! Has the rogue class found its place? Is the rogue designed for ganking pve geared players? Mabye not, but it sure as hell is good at it!

Today, I’m going to talk about (free promotion!) league of legends. League of legends (LoL) is a F2P(with optional micro-transactions) tower defense/strategy game by riot games. I’ve been playing this game since the beta, and have been able to experience the evolution of the game, and will vouch for its amazing design(although with some flaws) ; in LoL You play with a 5 man team of real players – against another 5 man human team. The objective of the game is to destroy the enemies turrets, inhibitors and finally nexus, while controlling the jungle neutrals and ganking enemy team members. The gameplay provides a fast, adapting, never boring(1000 games later still playing) fluid f2p PvP game with over 50 champions to pick from. Additionally, it has a clean crisp graphical style(think world of watercraft) and makes good use of team coordination as well as a single members skill.

So I went to a local grocery store, and found this really neat looking gum without any text or description on the packaging aside from “React”. Its 5 gum’s new flavor. So seeing this cool package and interesting name I assumed that the gum would additionally turn out to be something cool. Maybe a gum that changed flavors or colors in your mouth! . Well turns out its a generic light peppermint flavor. And not a very good peppermint either. I’m rather confused why they put out ANOTHER line of peppermint gum, that’s worse than the first. I assume they thought people would predict its something new based on the name and wrapping and pick it up (good marketing!). But its really 6/10 . Mediocre peppermint in a cool box.
